My sweet friends Brian and Carolyn decided to throw me a surprise baby shower this past week. Everyone from my lab was there, along with quite a few people from Brandon's lab. We have such nice co-workers! Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures and am hoping to get some more photos of the event from Carolyn. Above is a really cute "cake" made of diapers, which also has small "pacifiers" on it made of Life-Savers and Jelly Bellies - how creative!We also finally put one of our baby items together: our swing (which Brandon carried all the way back with him from the US). We are both looking forward to the day when we will have a baby to put in it.
I am now 31 weeks pregnant, and I am starting to get a bit uncomfortable. I am still of course very thankful, since my pregnancy has gone so well, but I am beginning to feel big and my lower back is starting to hurt. I am praying that I don't develop any complications and that the baby and I stay healthy for the remaining weeks. I am also praying that our baby girl comes by her due date or shortly after, so that I do not have to be induced. My next appointment is on September 1st...I will keep you posted.
